Assessment and certification
Assessment is practical and written. Your trainer observes each delegate in practical assessments during the day, including CPR with a defibrillator, choking, the unresponsive casualty, and bleeding and shock. There is also a short written assessment to check understanding. Everything assessed is taught on the course.
On successful completion, every delegate receives the FAA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) certificate, awarded by First Aid Awards,, valid for three years from the date on the certificate. It is renewed by retaking the one-day course before it expires, and the HSE recommends a short annual refresher in between. We are happy to remind you in good time so your cover never lapses.
