The First Aid at Work course is the full 3-day qualification for designated first aiders, particularly in higher-risk London workplaces such as construction, manufacturing, warehousing, care homes and larger organisations. It equips your first aiders to manage a wide range of injuries and medical emergencies, not just the basics.

Assessment and certification
Assessment is practical and written. Your trainer observes each delegate in practical assessments across the three days, including CPR with a defibrillator, choking, the unresponsive casualty, bleeding and shock, the secondary survey, fractures and anaphylaxis. There are also short written assessments to check understanding. Everything assessed is taught on the course.
On successful completion, every delegate receives the FAA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) certificate, awarded by First Aid Awards,, valid for three years from the date on the certificate. It can be renewed on the shorter 2-day requalification course, ideally before the certificate expires, and the HSE recommends a short annual refresher in between. We are happy to remind you in good time so your cover never lapses.

What happens when our First Aid at Work certificates expire?
The certificates are valid for 3 years. Your first aiders can renew on the 2-day requalification course, ideally before expiry. It is also open to certificates expired by up to a month. Between one and three months after expiry it is the employer's decision, and after three months the full 3-day course is needed. Request a quote and we will help you schedule renewal training in good time.
